The Sunshine Express Fishing Derby Continues At Miramonte Lake May 8; $500 in cash up for grabs at popular Mother’s Day event
Norwood, CO, 3/27/16: Miramonte Lake, in the Dan Noble State Wildlife Area, approximately 20 minutes south of Norwood, Colorado, will be the place to be for Mother’s Day, with a chance to win $500 in cash and many other prizes during The Sunshine Express Miramonte Fishing Derby.
Fishermen and women from all over the western slope as well as neighboring states show up every year to have a shot at catching the longest trout and the $500 top prize, and are invited once again to test their luck on Sunday, May 8, 2016, between 6a-3p.
“With some of the state’s best fishing, in one of it’s most beautiful and wildlife rich locations, right at the base of Lone Cone Mountain, Miramonte Lake is easy to fall in love with,” said KingDaddy, Sunshine Express editor, copublisher and event organizer, “and we think it’s the perfect place for a beautiful Mother’s Day gathering, bringing together family and friends for fishing, fun and lots of great prizes!”
“We want to say thank you,” added KingDaddy, “to CPW for making the event possible, and to our sponsors Timberline Ace Hardware in Norwood & Telluride, The Country Lodge in Montrose, and The Tobacconist & Lifted Gifts in Crested Butte, as well as to all of the fine area merchants who donated all of the prizes to be given away, helping us to make this a special yearly event not to be missed.”
Over $1000 in prizes from western slope businesses are up for grabs with a top prize of $500 for the person who weighs in the longest trout. Only *one* trout per participant may be weighed in and all participants must possess a valid Colorado fishing license and abide by all laws governing fishing in the state.
