Miramonte Lake, located in the Dan Noble State Wildlife Area, is approximately 20 minutes south of Norwood, Colorado, and will be the place to be for Mother’s Day.
Fishermen and women from all over the western slope as well as neighboring states show up every year to have a shot at catching the longest trout and the $500 top prize, and are invited once again to test their luck on Sunday, May 13, 2018, between 6a-3p.
“With some of the state’s best fishing, in one of it’s most beautiful and wildlife rich locations, right at the base of Lone Cone Mountain, Miramonte Lake is the perfect place for a beautiful Mother’s Day gathering, bringing together family and friends for fishing, fun and lots of great prizes!” said KingDaddy, Sunshine Express editor, publisher and event organizer, adding, “It is our way of giving back to the community and saying thanks Moms.”
“We also want to say thank you,” added KingDaddy, “to CPW for making the event possible and to our sponsor Timberline Ace Hardware in Norwood & Telluride, with special thanks to The Country Lodge in Montrose and Cabella’s in Grand Junction for their donations, as well as to all of the fine area merchants who donated prizes to be given away.”
Over $1000 in prizes from western slope businesses are up for grabs with a top prize of $500 cash for the person who weighs in the longest trout.
Only *one* trout per participant may be weighed in and all participants must possess a valid Colorado fishing license and abide by all laws governing fishing in the state.
